March 24  ONE EAGLET HAS FLEDGED!

The photos from today are posted for those

who are following the progress of the Llano

Bald Eagle nest.  They are not for sale, but

for your information only.

Most were taken under extremely harsh

lighting conditions.

9222  9243

When we arrived at the nest before sunup, one eaglet was to the right of the nesting

tree, low to the ground. It then flew to the east of the nest.

2591  4195

The other eaglet looked many times like it was ready to fledge.  It even got on a

limb outside the nest, but then turned...

4232  9259

and went back to the nest.  About 1:30 the eaglet that had fledged flew back in to

the nest area (right) and eventually back to the nest to eat some of the American

Coot the adult had brought to the nest.  It then lay down in the nest for a rest.  It

had been a long tiring day.

2511

March 22 As of 10:00 A.M. the eaglets had not yet

fledged.

Dec 17 Eagles swap turns at the nest as they continue to sit on egg(s).

The eagles are now sitting on egg/s since the week after Thanksgiving.

The nest is so deep, when one is on the eggs you can only see the top of its head.

After a few hours another bird comes to the nest area to

take its turn on the nest.
